It was the fall of 2014. I was bored of sitting at home, trying to find a place that would hire a recent Bachelor of Science who was unexperienced in anything except acting. Sadly, I had missed out on being a part of the Nevada County Performing Arts Guild's summer production of Alices in Wonderland; I could have had so much fun showing the new cast how ridiculous I looked in a dress.
     I happened upon one of the directors around town after Alices closed and she told me they were doing Cinderella that fall and that she would love it if I played the stepmother or the fairy godmother. I showed up to auditions and since I don't sing, I was cast as the stepmother.
     Cinderella is the classic Disney fairytale with a slight twist to make it appropriate for the young players - Cinderella and the prince dance to prove that Cinderella was the girl at the ball.
     Kissing is icky but the stepmother can flirt with an underage prince.
     Okay.
     There are a few more characters added, lots of strange songs, and there are so. many. fairies.
